A Closer Look at the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Foamposite One in White

The Japanese imprint completely revamps the hoops model’s upper to look like a zen garden.

Nike has a long list of footwear collaborators that it works with year after year, and one of them is COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS. Earlier past year, the two collaborated on the specialized Air Carnivore silhouette, and now they’re teaming up again this Fall to release a two-part capsule atop the legendary Nike Air Foamposite One.

CDG isn’t the first label to collaborate on this throwback basketball sneaker, but they can be credited with elevating its design presentation by rethinking its upper.

The Air Foamposite Ones are recognized for their trademark ribbed foundation layers, but the Japanese imprint took a different approach by fashioning the side walls and lower heels to seem like a tastefully ordered zen garden. This collection includes white and black hues, the former of which we have a thorough view of. The majority of the shoe is made up of angelic finishes, with black accents on the heel branding that reads “COMME des GARONS HOMME PLUS,” carbon fiber molds on the lower mid-foot, and “AIR” emblems implanted into the tongues.

The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Foamposite One expected to release during November for $520 USD.
