Heron Preston and BAPE has announced a limited-edition collaboration. By fusing popular American and Japanese dress notes.
Heron Preston reimagines classics like BAPE’s Shark Hoodies, BAPE Camo, the APE HEAD logo, and the BAPESTA sneaker to create a collection that presented new ideas while staying true to BAPE’s history. APE HEAD graphic t-shirts kick off the collection, paying homage to early screen printing designs. BAPE’s yellow ABC camo and purple COLOR camo are featured on a workwear jacket and matching utility pants.
“This project is 8 years in the making. In 2015 I launched a project called ‘Street Sweepers’, where I hacked a Nike Air Force One, remixing it into 3 different brands that would normally never ever work together,” said Heron Preston. “I thought of this as an impossible collaboration and the dream was to give people what they were never supposed to have. In 2019, BAPE formally reached out to me, to turn that dream into a reality.”
The coveted BAPE full-zip Shark Hoodie in blue and green camouflage with matching sweatpants is a standout from the collection. The BAPESTA sneaker, which has been reimagined in Heron Preston’s signature orange hue, completes the collection. The silhouette is completed with mismatched BAPE and Heron Preston labels in addition to its leather and canvas construction.
The Heron Preston x BAPE collaboration will be available on Heron Preston’s website, BAPE’s website, and select BAPE stores on Saturday, May 7.
