Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the former co-founders of Instagram, have launched their latest project, Artifact. This app uses AI technology to curate and personalize a user’s news feed.
Artifact is built around three key concepts: “articles, facts, and artificial intelligence”. The app uses an algorithm similar to TikTok‘s “For You” page to recommend news articles to users.
As users continue to read articles on the app, their news feed will become more tailored to their interests and preferences. Systrom emphasized that the app will feature news from both left-leaning and right-leaning publications.
The co-founders envision making the app more social in the future, allowing users to follow friends, share articles, and comment on news. At this stage, access to Artifact is by invitation only, but those interested can sign up to join the waitlist.
