After premiering exclusively in theaters during Disney-Doctor Marvel’s Strange in the Multiverse of Madness over the weekend. The teaser trailer for James Cameron‘s Avatar: The Way of Water is finally here.
The 20th Century sequel’s trailer travels above and below Pandora’s bright blue water, introducing new whale-like creatures and showcasing the franchise’s signature flying creatures, Toruk, who were first introduced in the first film.
“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure,” reads the official synopsis.
The Way of Water will arrive as the first of four upcoming Avatar sequels. Producer Jon Landau confirmed that viewers can expect a “fulfilling resolution to each film, but when looked at as a whole the journey across all four will create a larger epic saga.”
Avatar: The Way of Water will premiere in theaters on December 16.
