The Triple S maintains its “leather-free” reputation while doubling down on this effort by doing away with the mesh layers. Instead, a “technical material” composed primarily of polyurethane (95%) and polyester (5%), which gives the appearance of plush, luxuriously smooth leather, was employed.
Given the material’s natural-looking ripples and light creases, which give the sneaker the desired texture, it does appear to be a good premium leather substitute for a synthetic.
All of the standard Triple S elements are still present elsewhere. In addition to the numerous panels, there are numerous embroidered and embossed branding and House cues, a complicated three-piece sole unit, and of course, a price tag that is as substantial as the sole.
These two “technical material” offerings cost $1,150 USD each, compared to the usual retail price of $1,050 USD for a Triple S.
