Bamford Watch Department Reworks Bremont’s S500 Supermarine Diver

This Bremont S500 Bamford Special Edition is the result of a collaboration between two British watchmaking institutions.

Bamford Watch Department‘s take on Bremont’s 43mm Supermarine S500 diver features an all-black DLC coated stainless steel case and a California dial, a first for both brands, with a mix of Arabic and Roman numerals as well as baton indices.

A solid layer of “California Blue” Super-LumiNova material is visible beneath the main dial only through apertures representing the hour markers, while newly designed hands indicate the time. While a bas relief diving bezel in black ceramic with a mix of matte and polished finishes completes the watch.

“I love the California dial and the integration of two styles,” says George Bamford. “I feel it represents the blend of two British brands working together. Also using what feels like a military blue, it emulates the crossover and bringing together of Bamford Watch Department and Bremont.”

“Projects such as this provide so much design inspiration,” says Bremont Co-Founder Nick English. “It’s been an incredibly natural process with George sharing so many of the same interests, from aviation to automobiles and vintage military timepieces.”

The Bremont S500 Bamford Special Edition is water resistant to 500 meters and comes with a black sailcloth strap with matching California Blue stitching. It costs £3,995 GBP (approximately $5,000 USD) and is available now from both Bremont and Bamford.
