Big Sean is back with a new song, “What A Life,” co-written with Hit-Boy, as well as a music video.

The single is the artist’s first release as a main artist in 2021, following his two Hit-Boy tracks, Babyface Ray’s “It Ain’t My Fault” and Freddie Gibbs’ “4 Thangs.” Sean throws bars on his journey to popularity and the ups and downs of living life in the spotlight on the single.

“Only get one life, swear I almost died twice,” he raps. “I went triple platinum more than three times, what a life, man/Feel like god when they bless me with the trick dice/And I left her ass on read, even though it was enticin’.”

In the Joe Well-directed video, the rapper is besieged by hundreds of bees, levitating through the skies, and fleeing a mob of brides, among other bizarre scenarios.

Sean dropped by Power 106’s L.A Leakers earlier this week to deliver a great freestyle over Drake’s “Love All” and Kanye West’s “Hurricane,” as well as Nardo Wick’s “Who Wants Smoke??” and JAY-“Dear Z’s Summer.” Hit-Boy also produced Sean’s nearly nine-minute freestyle.
