The lead track from his most recent album, The Fuse Is Lit, “Slap,” was created by the East Coast veteran in collaboration with his OG, Big Daddy Kane, and Griselda’s Conway The Machine.
This morning Busta Rhymes dropped his latest EP, and it’s safe to say that it doesn’t fall short. Over the course of the five songs, Busta maintains a high level of rhyming, which says volumes about his heritage.
In addition to Kane, Busta’s roots in New York City are reflected by cameos from Swizz Beatz and rising artist Capella Grey. But Busta’s inclusion of Skillibeng on “Bulletproof Skin” demonstrates his love of dancehall and Jamaican heritage.
Hopefully, Busta Rhymes will continue to produce music after the release of his most recent album. He published Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God in 2020.
With performances from Rakim and Chris Rock as well as features from artists like Kendrick Lamar (who made his only guest appearance of the year) and the still-incarcerated Vybz Kartel, the 22-song tracklist perfectly illustrated why Busta is a superstar in the music industry.
