Rui Hachimura of the Washington Wizards has revealed another Jordan Brand collaboration, the Air Jordan 36 “Global Games.”
The upcoming performance pairs are dressed in a dried clay works-like makeup with bright red piping accents and Kanji text, paying homage to Hachimura’s Japanese roots. The tongue pull tabs are a traditional gridded design with mismatched Jumpman and Hachimura’s samurai logos, which his mother designed in honor of Hachimura’s surname.
The insoles and bottoms feature cherry blossom and mountain range artwork with the occasional basketball, and the uppers have additional red stitching details. The design is completed by a cushioned sole unit with an Eclipse Plate 3.0 and translucent Air Zoom outsoles.
The shoes come packaged in a brushed black shoebox with ukiyo-e-style artwork of Rui Hachimura dunking over defenders. Expect these to drop at the Nike website and select retailers on May 23 for $195 USD.
