The film also stars Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet as lovestruck inmates who rebel against Steve at the namesake penitentiary, based on the George Saunders short story “Escape From Spiderhead,” which was first published in The New Yorker.

“Beautiful people get away with too much,” Hemsworth’s character says during a scene in the trailer. “I say that having benefited myself from time to time.”

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, best known for their work on Zombieland and the Deadpool franchise, wrote the script, which Kosinski is directing. Along with Hemsworth, Eric Newman, Agnes Chu, Geneva Wasserman, Tommy Harper, and Jeremy Steckler, Reese and Wernick are producing.

Spiderhead is Kosinski’s fifth feature film as a director, following Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, Only the Brave, and others. Spiderhead premieres on Netflix on June 17.
