Chrome Hearts Debuts Hard-Carved Basketball Hoop at Art Basel

Made with sustainable and recyclable aluminum.

Art Basel Miami was revived after a two-year break owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s been a busy week in South Beach with the presentation of Virgil Abloh‘s final Louis Vuitton collection, the launch of special NFTs by various musicians and high-profile celebrities, and now Chrome Hearts is joining in on the excitement with the unveiling of their newest basketball hoop piece.

The backboard and pole are made of highly sustainable and recyclable aluminum, according to the LA-based brand’s IG. The former is intricately hand carved and engraved with numerous Chrome Hearts emblems ranging from the company’s iconic banner logo to crosses and stars. The rim comes in its characteristic orange color and is complemented by a sterling silver net, which is a more upscale version of your neighborhood street court’s chain net.

The court’s base appears to be made of cement blocks and is ornamented with huge crosses on each side. A white mural with all-over blue cross patterns lies in the background of this hoops piece’s exhibition.

There’s no news on whether this will ever be released in stores, but you can get a closer look at it here in the meantime.
