Denim Tears and Sky High Farm Collaborate on a Workwear Collection

Supreme Creative Director Tremaine Emory, described as a “multidisciplinary provocateur,” has collaborated with Sky High Farm Workwear for the latest Denim Tears collaboration. The Fall/Winter 2022 capsule collection unites the two brands under Denim Tears’ mission statement of commemorating the African Diaspora, this time through a cornucopia of what Emory refers to as “Black Foods.”

The limited edition collection displays Emory’s expanding design craft and extensive knowledge of African culture. Emory was inspired by the dishes he grew up eating in Queens, New York. Denim Tears for Sky High Farm Workwear is embossed with images of okra, collard greens, black-eyed peas, and watermelon seed packs to put fashion in the context of storytelling and transformation.

A fitted green wool suit with peak lapels, characteristic Sky High Farm carpenter pants, a waxed duster canvas coat, a cashmere sweater, and a vintage-washed sweatshirt evolved from the sophisticated, deliberate design centered on African American framework.

Other pieces include a thermal, a T-shirt, and a vintage leather jacket hand-painted by Fernando Ruiz, all of which work together to convey the idea “small community, massive diaspora, infinite detail.”

Denim Tears for Sky High Farm Workwear will be available on the Denim Tears and Sky High Farm websites on October 21, 11 a.m. EDT, as well as at Dover Street Market (Los Angeles and New York) and select retailers.
