doublet Makes the Impossible Possible With its SS23 “IF YOU WANT IT” Collection

LVMH Prize-winning label doublet decided to make it snow for its Spring/Summer 2023 presentation at Paris Fashion Week to help convey the message of its collection.

Designer Masayuki Ino created what he calls “impossible clothes and improbable fashion” for the season after recalling artificial snowfall in Singapore.

The SS23 “IF YOU WANT IT,” collection is built on the playful nature of the Japanese label by exploring a more sophisticated sense of playfulness.

Looks centered on jackets and sweaters that made models appear headless were the focus of the runway presentation, which featured faux snow falling in the middle of the summer. Ino redefined exaggeration in fashion by obscuring the face and shortening the torso with shoulder pads. Longer sleeved denim sets and longer pant hems are additional examples of this stretching outlook.

While generous tailoring received the common denim distressing treatment, pieces like a rusted rider jacket and those that simply disintegrated into thread shards received additional weathering. Along with the striking popcorn tops and bottoms, there were many graphic print pieces that added a fresh trick-eye component.
