DSquared2 Unveils Pre-Fall 2023 Collection

When still living in Toronto, Dean and Dan Caten enjoyed vintage shopping at the city’s Kensington Market. “We went there to get our Saturday night look,” they said. Going down memory lane, pre-Fall was an ode to the thrift-store-hunting wardrobe of their youth, which they rendered into a “fucked up mix, but with a chic attitude,” as per their rather matter-of-fact description.

DSquared2’s latest offering reflects the hidden gems found inside thrift stores on a busy day. The collection, which features washed tees, checkered blazers, and striped cardigans drenched in rainbow hues, acts as a wishlist for Dean and Dan, encapsulated by vintage-inspired looks infused with DSquared2’s chic attitude.

Embellished maxi skirts are layered beneath knitted vests from grandpa’s wardrobe, while fitted suits are layered beneath knitted vests from grandpa’s wardrobe.

Cropped outerwear looks great with slouchy camo cargo pants and chunky leather belts. Leather varsity jackets, most likely donated by college athletes, are seen alongside “DSquared2 University” sweatshirts and army-style parkas inspired by retired veterans.

The collection is completed with handbags and charmed necklaces, as well as cowboy boots and maple leaf-ornamented chokers.
