Felipe Pantone/Greenwich Peninsula

Felipe Pantone Presents a Kaleidoscope of Color at London’s Greenwich Peninsula

Greenwich Peninsula, in south-east London, is a burgeoning modern landscape. The development will be a new residential and business community with 48 acres of open public space emerging along the Thames river between the Isle of Dogs and Silvertown in the coming years.

Felipe Pantone, a renowned Argentinian-Spanish artist, has been commissioned to turn one of the area’s elevated walkways into an alluring journey from Peninsula Square to the Thames Path. The new work is partly inspired by an earlier study, SUBTRACTIVE VARIABILITY, which investigates how light spectrum displacement affects color.

The artist’s first UK installation, Quick Tide, is housed at The Tide and uses a mix of vinyl to transform the angular shapes of the walkway, giving visitors different perspectives and experiences depending on the time of day and their location.

Quick Tide is completely free and will open to the public on May 6th. Please visit the project’s website for more information on Greenwich Peninsula’s website.
