Grand Seiko’s New GMT Duo Takes Timekeeping to New Heights

Drawing inspiration from the mesmerizing skies observed near their Mt. Iwate studio, Grand Seiko unveils its latest horological marvels. Enter the stage, the ‘Sea of Clouds’ SBGJ275 and the ‘Mid-heaven’ SBGM253 – a duo of GMT models that celebrate the allure of the heavens.

In the spotlight is the ‘Sea of Clouds’ GMT, a dazzling 44.2mm timepiece that boasts a dial reminiscent of its namesake. Wrapped in stainless steel, this wrist companion features a dynamic two-tone bezel and a matching metal bracelet, all elegantly framed by an exhibition caseback. Through the dual-curved sapphire crystal, the 9S86 caliber stands proudly, with its light blue oscillating weight stealing the show. Priced at $7,600 USD, this beauty will grace wrists in a limited run of 2,000 units.

Stepping into the limelight alongside is the ‘Mid-heaven’ GMT, flaunting a sunray dial in a soothing light blue hue. Nestled within a mirror-finished case and bezel, this timepiece exudes timeless elegance. Peek through the see-through caseback, and you’ll find the tantalizing blue-hued oscillating weight, adorned with anodic oxidation treatment. Limited to 1,700 pieces, the ‘Mid-heaven’ dances to the rhythm of the 9S66 automatic movement, with a price tag of $5,600 USD.

These celestial creations will make their exclusive debut in October, available through Grand Seiko’s online and offline boutiques.
