Iceland’s tourism board has cruelly ridiculed Facebook’s new Meta-verse plan with a film mocking both Mark Zuckerberg and augmented reality.
The Icelandverse is introduced in a two-minute video on the “Inspired by Iceland” YouTube channel as a “revolutionary approach on how to connect our world without being super weird,” with “enhanced actual reality without silly-looking headsets.”
The proposal is outlined by “Chief Visionary Officer” Zack Mossbergsson, whose hairdo, excessive sunscreen application, and awkward demeanor all allude to Facebook’s millionaire founder.
The film reveals Iceland‘s completely immersive “open world environment,” where “everything is real,” from the aurora borealis and volcanic landscape to “really big geysers” and “birds you can watch,” all while drawing attention to the country’s many epic, cinematic landscapes, which will be familiar to anyone who has seen “The Vikings.”
