KITH is preparing to release its new seasonal collection for Fall 2022. Ronnie Fieg has enlisted none other than Jerry Seinfeld to star in the collection’s advertising to generate buzz, and the internet is drooling all over.
Despite prior heavy-hitting guest actors like Steve Buscemi and MA$E, Seinfeld’s photos became the most talked-about KITH campaign in years.
The campaign, shot by photographer Mark Seliger, features the renowned comic in a number of looks, from a varsity jacket with Mets caps to a floral fleece zip-up with Kith’s New York Yankees Clarks Wallabees.
While Seinfeld has always been known for his hot feet, all of the footwear shown in the campaign was acquired from Ronnie’s personal archive. The mita x Nike Air Max 95 “Prototype,” Scottie Pippen’s Air Maestro, the Air Trainer SC High “Auburn,” and, of course, the Kith Air Force 1 are among the styles showcased.
There is a slew of desirable outerwear, forward-thinking essentials, must-have collaborations, loads of accessories, and even KITH’s biggest jeans ever.
There is not a single part of KITH’s apparel game that has not improved significantly in recent years, but the outerwear collection is a terrific place to start. KITH dives deep into layering items even while designing for changing weather to provide us some extremely slick outfits.
KITH is releasing wool varsity jackets with collegiate lettering spelling out the names of Queens and Brooklyn streets, thickly knit mélange shackets, weighty patched cardigans, mesh-lined cargo pocket windbreakers, washed cotton chore coats, and more fleece than you will ever need to survive and even thrive through winter in Fall 2022.
KITH is also introducing its first leather collection, which includes leather jackets and Matrix-inspired coats embossed with discreet lettering, making for some of its most mature (and heaviest) outerwear to date.
For KITH fans looking to increase their base and mid-layer selections, these last several seasons have been terrific. In any case, that is summer for you. As expected, fall 2022 will feature some slightly more insulating clothing, like baby corduroy shirts and turtleneck tees.
But there are some recognizable faces from the Classics collection thrown in among the colorblocked shirting, collarless technical pullovers, quarter-zip rugbies, and faded denim.
Field shirts, cableknit sweaters, minimalist harrington-style coats, and minimalist hoodies abound, giving the kind of understated sophistication you would expect from a clothing firm with more than ten years of experience.
You may have noticed a collegiate trend in the outerwear, which is emphasized by the different T-shirts and hoodies bearing homages to CUNY, Brooklyn College, and Queens College. It is part of KITH’s effort to help these organizations with The Kinnect Foundation, the charitable arm of KITH.
Students at such institutions will have first access to these items, and the qualifying schools have been awarded money from The Kinnect Foundation that will allow them to distribute scholarships to students. All of the goods are appropriately made in collaboration with KITH’s longstanding partner, Russell Athletics.
Pushing the boundaries of ever-expanding pants, KITH Fall 2022 showcases an examination of all types of trousers.
In fact, KITH is releasing some of its wildest legwear to date, such as leather loungers, paisley velvet painter pants, and 3D pocket shorts, as well as several pairs of cargo pants inspired by M65 that are the loosest KITH has ever made, hinting at the brand’s potential embrace of the relaxed silhouette.
With their vast Fall 2022 hat line, KITH covers pretty much every other base possible. Nothing is overlooked, from basic beanies and buckets to hats with elegant KITH script emblems and Yankees caps made from the same material as the clothing line.
Since the emphasis is on the clothing, KITH kept its range of accessories for Fall 2022 rather limited. However, this place is devoid of slouches.
You also get a deep bag made of the same satin-lined floral tapestry weave as the workwear set, a patchworked corduroy tote to match the shirts, and, perhaps most crucially, a custom fragrance created with Brooklyn-based parfumiers D.S. And what else is DURGA named? — Queens in the summer.
Fall 2022 features a couple KITH classics, as well as some familiar characters with a new spin. More Clarks 8th Street variations, more personalized Converse — available globally this time, not just in-store — and two beautiful New Balance collabs, with the 990v2 and 990v3 offered up in lush tones of sand or blue to compliment the season’s clothes.
Safe to say KITH outdid themselves offering variety items for everyone, the Fall 2022 collection will be available in all Kith stores and online on Friday, September 9th (11am ET).
