It’s been an exciting year for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies as they continue to make a name for themselves in the NBA‘s Western Conference. But that’s not the only place Morant has been making waves.
On Christmas Day of last year, it was announced that Morant would be partnering with Nike to release his very own performance sneaker, the Ja 1. The Nike Basketball team reached out to Morant to discuss the process of bringing his vision to life in the creation of the shoe.
Recently, a new, stunning look for the Ja 1 was revealed by Nike. Dubbed the “Midnight” colorway, it features a sleek all-black upper with sparkling detailing from Swarovski. The Swooshes are outlined with crystals, creating a stunning and elegant look. The final touch is the addition of crystals on the “12AM” dubraé and Nike Ja hangtag.
The shoe rests on an icy blue translucent outsole with “IT’S 12AM SOMEWHERE” written in Morant’s handwriting. Although this “Midnight” colorway is not expected to be part of the initial launch, it has us eagerly awaiting the release of the Nike Ja 1. A spring launch is expected via Nike.
