Jay-Z Is The First Rapper To Become a Billionaire

According to Forbes’ cover story, Jay-Z is on to the next one, thanks to his many of smart business endeavors he successfully created his $1 billion fortune.

The cover story details how Hov’s net worth “conservatively totals $1 billion, making him one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire — and the first hip-hop artist to do so.”

What’s better than one billionaire?

Not only is he looking at a nice $220 million in cash and investments, but when you add his partnerships with liquor brands such as Armand de Brignac and D’Usse where he nets a staggering $410 million combined, in addition to his ownership of Tidal ($100 million), his company Roc Nation ($75 million), and more, you can see why his climb to a billion at 50 years old is an impressive feat.

“If he’s a billionaire now, imagine what he’s about to be,” Swizz Beatz says. “Because he’s only just starting.”

According to Forbes, he’s amassed 14 No. 1 albums, 22 Grammy awards and over $500 million in pretax earnings in a decade. You can read the full story here.
