NIGO made his debut as KENZO‘s new creative director for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 men’s and women’s collections in January of this year.
The collection was displayed at the Galerie Vivienne in Paris as an exhibition of diverse design influences and tailoring. However, since its debut, the Paris-based house has released a couple of FW22 collection drops, the most recent of which is Drop 3.
The latest release, titled ‘Urban Uniforms,’ examines the debate between military styles and elevated East/West tailoring. As such, one standout feature of the collection is the jungle camo print, which can be found on anoraks, padded jackets, pants, skirts, shorts, and more in soft green/beige/black, maroon/powder pink/deep red/pollen, and black/navy blue/sky blue/white.
Tailoring is also a focal point, with three-button blazer suits, kimono-wrap tops and pants. Plaid, pinstripe, and solid-color designs combined with wool and cotton fabrications liven up tailored elements.
Military-style accessories such as backpacks, crossbody bags, tote bags, belt bags, and wallets round out the selection. Along with Drop 3’s exploration of prints and tailoring, the offering delves deeper into Nigo’s design notes, which fuse the house’s Parisian heritage and Japanese heritage.
The 3rd drop of KENZO’s FW22 collection is available now in-store and online at KENZO.
