Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus Makes an Appearance in Latest ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ Trailer

Remembering the past.

With The Matrix Resurrections‘ release date approaching, Warner Bros. debuted a new trailer at The Game Awards 2021, bringing back one of the original trilogy’s fan-favorite characters: Laurence Fishburne‘s Morpheus.

The new clip, which can be seen above, follows Keanu Reeves‘ Neo as he reacquaints himself with the Matrix and the duality of his world, with Jessica Henwick’s Bugs serving as his tour guide.

After traveling through various dimensions and locations, Neo eventually enters a room to meet the film’s new Morpheus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays him clips from his past. As a nod to Fishburne, his version of the character appears on screen, along with a younger Neo and Trinity.

The Matrix Resurrections to arrive at theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.
