Leica Set To Drop First-Ever 4K Video Projector in 2023

Leica has disclosed that its first-ever 4K video projector, the Cine 1, will be available in Q2 of next year.

Using ‘unique triple RGB laser technology’ and an aspherical Summicron lens, the super short throw projector, which Leica refers to as a Laser TV, can achieve 80 and 100-inch images while being positioned just a few inches from a wall.

The perforated’sleek metal body’ also includes Dolby Atmos surround sound, a TV tuner, and a smart TV interface, as well as HDMI, USB connections, and screen mirroring. In terms of energy usage, the short-range laser outperforms comparable-size OLED screens.

‘With the Cine 1,” says Matthias Harsch, CEO of Leica Camera AG, “consumers can experience cinematic pleasure in the comfort of their own homes at the highest audiovisual level – cinema is coming home.”

The Leica Cine 1 will be available in Europe in Q2 2023, with no price information yet available.
