Louis Vuitton x Ghesquière: A Decade of Chic Meets Creative

Nicolas Ghesquière is no stranger to the world of Louis Vuitton womenswear. For over a decade, he’s been serving up sleek designs that balance clean lines with creativity. And the Spring/Summer 2024 show was no exception, with a unique twist.

Louis Vuitton teamed up with James Chinlund to create a show venue that looked like a hot air balloon both inside and out. The pyramid-shaped seats were covered in orange plastic, and they had some famous faces in attendance, like Jaden Smith, Zendaya, and menswear Creative Director Pharrell Williams. The French musician Zaho de Sagazan provided the show’s striking soundtrack.

Ghesquière’s collection brought city style to the runway. He paired leather bomber jackets with ruffled skirts and chunky belts straight out of the 2000s. Linear graphics clashed on layered bottoms and buttonless shirts, while muted tones set the stage for textured corsets and puffy tops. The double-breasted outerwear, made from glossy materials, added a finishing touch with its distorted houndstooth, bedazzled accessories, and unique footwear.
