Mercedes-Benz Unveils Its Flagship EQS Electric SUV

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its EQS electric SUV, which is the company’s flagship model. The EQS SUV is the first SUV to be built on the automaker’s new EPA-2 platform, and it shares many similarities with its sedan counterpart, particularly in terms of interior design.

The MBUX Hyperscreen, Dolby Atmos surround sound system, and HEPA filter are all present, but there are some exterior similarities, such as the shared rear-axle steering that can reach up to 10 degrees and the DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps up front.

As expected, the SUV is 7.8 inches taller than the sedan, allowing for up to seven passengers. The lower-tier rear-wheel-drive variant will be capable of producing 355 horsepower, while the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive variant will be capable of producing a much higher 536 horsepower.

Both configurations have the same charging capabilities of up to 200kW, which allows them to charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Both have a range of 372 miles when fully charged.

The new EQS SUV has yet to be given a specific release date or price, but Mercedes-Benz expects to begin deliveries later this year.
