Japanese brand N.HOOLYWOOD changes direction to become more militant for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
The most recent collection from Daisuke Obana blends streetwear and tactical clothing while also being heavily camouflaged. The collection includes puffer jackets, technical pants, sweatshirts, and t-shirts in relaxed silhouettes. The use of cotton, nylon, and fleece fabrics enhances the technical camouflage’s minimal color scheme of black, gray, and slate.
“The past few years, I have been sending out a message about pursuing clothes for life and health,” Obana told Vogue Runway. “And I want to face people who sympathize with my beliefs rather than a broader audience. I think it would be my dream to save the body and soul through clothing.”
The collection’s lookbook, which was shot in a retired military chopper with a threatening green glow, further supports Obana’s sentiment. The company’s SS23 collection offers a knowledgeable look at adaptable yet wearable pieces despite being streamlined in its design.
