Netflix Drops Official Trailer for ‘The Sandman’

The Sandman, a new Netflix series based on the 1989–1996 DC Comics book series by Neil Gaiman, has debuted its first official trailer. The Sandman, a work of dark fantasy and mythology, centers on the Master of Dreams, also known as Dream, Morpheus, and other names.

Tom Sturridge‘s character Dream, who is captured and imprisoned for a century, causes a domino effect to fall upon both the dreaming and waking worlds as a result of his imprisonment. As Dream is set free by mortals, he makes an effort to reclaim his former authority and establish law.

Dream will need the help of head librarian Lucienne to locate holy magical items while traveling through the world of dreaming. There they will encounter adversaries like the demonic Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) and the escaped nightmare Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook).

The Netflix series is developed and executive produced by the original writer Neil Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer.
