Nike Air Max 1 “Ugly Duckling” Gets a “Pecan/Yellow Ochre” Makeover

With only a few weeks left in 2022, Nike is making sure to make room for more Air Max 1 colorways in order to maximize its 35th anniversary celebration.

Following its debut in a luxe “Burgundy Crush” palette, the Nike Sportswear model is now expanding its fall-friendly lineup with a brand new “Ugly Duckling” makeup in a “Pecan/Yellow Ochre” motif.

While its name suggests a nod to the Swoosh’s Dunk Low “Ugly Duckling” Pack, which debuted in 2001, its visual presentation lacks any colors that are similar to those kicks. Instead, “Pecan” hits are applied to the quarter panels and heel overlays, while “Baroque Brown” hits rest adjacent along the tongues, toe boxes, and collars in a fall-appropriate arrangement.

The Swooshes, laces, tongue branding, and duck silhouettes are then drizzled with “Yellow Ochre” accents, the latter of which is embroidered into the heel to replace the usual Nike branding. To finish things off, the sneakers have beige mudguards and angelic Swooshes.
