From the 1960s until the 1980s, Barney Bubbles was a well-known English graphic artist associated with the independent music scene. Bubbles is most known for designing eye-catching record artworks and posters that are densely packed with symbols and riddles. “From Elvis Costello and Ian Dury to The Damned and Hawkwind, his distinct approach to design would solidify him as one of the genre’s most influential artists of all time,” NOAH noted.

There are four designs to choose from, including a “Don’t Join!” tee with a hamburger graphic, which was one of Bubbles’ first creations while working at his Portobello design business, Teenburger. An Armed Forces tee advises against joining the army, while Smug tee contains abstract designs in his signature style, and The Show is Done tee features a passage from Greil Marcus’ social commentary, Lipstick Traces, reading, “The show is over. The audience turns to depart, putting on their jackets and heading home. No more coats for me. “There are no more houses.”

The NOAH x Barney Bubbles series will be available on February 26th at Noah online and certain physical locations. Barney Bubbles’ full bio can be found here.
