PANGAIA, a materials science brand dedicated to environmental preservation, has unveiled a capsule made from its most recent innovation, Recycrom™.
This revolutionary technology, developed by Officina+39, an Italian textile chemical company, is a new technique that converts recycled textile fibers into a full range of colored powders used for pigment dye that can be applied to fabrics such as cotton, wool, nylon, and any natural blend. Recycrom, unlike other dyes, is applied as a suspension rather than as part of a chemical solution, making it easily filtered from water, lowering both costs and environmental impact.
PANGAIA’s signature pieces, such as the Re-color Hoodie, Re-color Track Pant, Re-color t-shirt, and Re-color shorts, are included in the capsule in aloe green, sky blue, apricot, coral pink, and banana.
Each color represents a different aspect of the environment: aloe green was inspired by the healing properties of aloe vera, sky blue by the refraction of light in the atmosphere, apricot, a member of the rose family, exudes a delicate and mellow vibe, coral pink by the coral spawning season, and banana yellow by the fruit.
All products in the collection come with a digital passport that allows wearers to scan the QR code to learn more about the product’s lifecycle, environmental impact savings, care tips, and other information.
Beginning August 4, the capsule will be available exclusively on pangaia’s website.
