PRIX and Higround Present Their Translucent Mechanical Keyboard

Higround, a product design studio, and PRIX Workshop, a streetwear label, have collaborated to create a nostalgic translucent mechanical keyboard that pays homage to childhood favorites like transparent Playstation and Xbox consoles.

Higround was founded by Rustin Sotoodeh and Kha Lu in 2020 to deliver high-quality modifiable keyboards and other computer peripherals for gamers, with the goal of creating a broader set of offerings that are style-forward and expressive for a culturally diverse audience.

After collaborating with brands outside of the gaming industry like Beats by Dre, StockX, and Attack on Titan, the brand is now collaborating with PRIX to create a natural bridge between fashion and gaming.

PRIX Workshop founder Esther Ng draws inspiration from her time and experience at YEEZY, as well as her personal interests, which include retro video games, classic JDM sports cars, and anime, under the slogan “Engineered and Tested.” Ng has firsthand experience with limitations in the gaming industry based on her interests and gender as an avid gamer. She hopes that as a result of this collaboration, everyone will feel welcome and at ease in the space, with the appropriate tools.

“This is the perfect time to show our dimensionality, as a product design studio beyond graphics,” Higround co-founder Rustin Sotoodeh says of the release.

“I’ve always been intrigued by computer hardware and the interconnectedness of it all, for as long as I’ve been building PCs I’ve wondered what it’d be like to see everything working in its raw beauty while also being protected and as practical as possible — I thought it was a shame that most companies conceal these elements to achieve mass-market appeal. Higround has given me the opportunity to share that thought with everyone with this new keyboard,” Ng said of the collaboration.

The Higround x PRIX Workshop keyboard will be available at the Higround website on June 24 at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET).
