Ressence, a Belgian watchmaker, has pared down its hand-free watch dial concept to create the new sartorial, entry-level Type 8.
The 43mm Type 8 has a grade 5 titanium case that has been brushed and polished, resulting in a total weight of only 42 grams.
On its domed cobalt blue dial, the simple design reveals only the hours and minutes, with no lettering or numbers. Blue Super-LumiNova is used to fill in the hand outlines and baton indices for the hours and minutes.
Ressence conceals its lugs beneath an overhang, creating the illusion that the strap is entering the case. The case, like all other Ressence watches, lacks a crown and is adjusted via the rotating caseback.
The Type 8 will be available from Ressence retailers on March 30 for CHF 12,500 (approximately $13,400 USD).
