RIMOWA’s Recent Campaign Celebrates Its Iconic Classic Cabin Suitcase

RIMOWA‘s current campaign, “Ingenieurskunst,” translates to “The Art of Engineering,” highlights the process, materials, and production behind its mobility products, which enable lifelong trips around the world.

The audio-visual campaign, which is accompanied by Daft Punk‘s iconic music “Around the World,” transports viewers around the world to various locales where kinetic installations showcase various components of the Classic Cabin suitcase.

The installations, which use 6000 rivets, 180 sheets of anodized aluminum, and suitcase shells, pay respect to the artistry behind the legendary luggage — “from the harmony of the raw, chrome, and matte materials used to create the products, to the symphonic relationship between heavy machinery and the delicate handcrafting that has been mastered by RIMOWA engineers.”

“The topic of German engineering might be considered dry or technical,” says Emelie De Vitis, Chief Marketing Officer at RIMOWA. “But as our head engineer describes, ‘it is more like a symphony’. We wanted to show that German engineering – which is at the core of who we are – is truly considered art at RIMOWA.”

All luggage purchased after July 25 will be covered by RIMOWA’s new lifetime guarantee to act as eternal travel buddies. I AM HERE directed the campaign, which was created in partnership with creative firm Anomaly Berlin.
