The WH-1000XM5 has an updated over-ear design with both the “V1 Integrated Processor” and the “HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1.” The technological breakthrough combines the two processors’ “multi-noise sensor technology” to collect noise efficiently through four sensors on the left and right of the headphones.

The 30mm driver unit is housed in a lightweight and rugged carbon fiber design that provides excellent sound quality.

Apart from the Walkman® high-quality sound technology, the call functionality of the headphones uses an algorithm developed through AI machine learning with over 500 million samples to separate the user’s voice from background noise.

Finally, the WH-1000XM5 supports USB PD (Power Delivery) charging, which allows for up to three hours of playback on a three-minute charge. The WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones will be available from Sony and select retailers for 50,000 JPY (approximately $393 USD).
