Stampd Takes a Minimalist Approach to Surf Culture

Surfing is an important part of the identity and style of Los Angeles natives like Stampd‘s founder, Chris Stamp. Surfing is at the heart of the Summer 2022 collection, but it also includes beach-ready looks as well as the brand’s signature silhouettes and graphic design. The new “Surf Sets,” introduces new styles like the perfect beach trunk and updated prints to the Stampd universe.

Chris drew inspiration for the “Surf Sets” from his favorite surf apparel pieces from his childhood and memories of warm weather, having been a lifelong beachgoer. Beach trunks, strike logo nylon pants, jackets, and headwear feature eye-catching camo-leopard and cracked marble prints throughout Stampd’s Summer 2022 collection.

To achieve a cool, monochromatic summer look, these skilled prints were developed in-house before being applied to technical fabrics. The beach trunks are made of a dry matte nylon that is designed to withstand the elements, particularly salt water, while also paying homage to military surplus styles.

Each piece in the collection is an attempt to combine two of Chris Stamp’s favorite things in life: warm weather and surfing. The collection’s graphic T-shirts feature beach-ready motifs like palm trees, sporty “S” logos, and silhouettes that are easy to throw on after hitting the waves.

The collection includes hoodies and nylon jackets to go with the short sleeve T-shirts and beach trunks for when it gets cooler at night. While the Summer 2022 collection features technical fabrics that can withstand the rigors of the beach, the pieces are also cleverly designed to fit into everyday wardrobes.

The “Surf Sets” in Stampd’s Summer 2022 collection will be available for purchase online and in-store at Stampd La Brea, as well as through global select stores, beginning April 16 at 9 a.m. PT.
