Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance have brought back their co-creation magic by dropping two new colorways of the 550 sneaker, named “Taupe” and “Brown,” which are already available on the ALD webstore.
This latest release departs from the duo’s previous efforts in 2020, 2021 and 2022 in terms of color and construction. Suede dominates most of the shoe, covering the midfoot, toebox and heel, while leather is absent from the upper, which is made of a canvas or hemp-like material similar to that seen in the “Hemp” colorway.
“Taupe” features a blend of medium and light tan shades that can be worn for three seasons and pairs well with ALD’s neutral pieces, making them versatile. “Brown” boasts earthy suede shades that resemble a luxurious suede smoking jacket, offering a bolder contrast. The midsoles of both shoes are off-white, and they feature the usual special tongue tags and midfoot embellishments that are typical of the ALD x New Balance partnership.
The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 in “Taupe” and “Brown” are now available on the brand’s webstore. Raffle begins May 8, ends May 10.
