TAG Heuer has released a limited edition ‘Polychrome’ Carrera Tourbillon Chronograph with a full spectrum of colors.
A 45mm black PVD brushed grade 5 titanium case with a fixed carbon fiber tachymeter bezel is used in the 150-piece limited edition chronograph. The crown, pushers, and screwed-down sapphire crystal caseback are all made of titanium.
The all-black look taken with the watch head – and its matte black alligator strap – serves to contrast the skeletonized dial’s ‘Polychrome’ PVD treatment, which replicates the various shades found in heat-treated metal.
Metallic oxides are applied in multiple, transparent layers in the “positive coating” treatment, with the thickness of the layers determining the color achieved. TAG’s Calibre Heuer 02T COSC chronograph tourbillon automatic movement with an 80-hour power reserve powers the watch.
The Carrera Tourbillon Chronograph ‘Polychrome’ is individually numbered and is available now from TAG Heuer for $24,050 USD.
