Singapore-based sneaker store Limited Edt has reconnected with adidas Originals to mark Singapore’s independence this month with a Forum 84 Low release, continuing its creative connection with adidas.
The current collaboration is the third and final iteration in Limited Edt’s batik-inspired flower design series, which began with the adidas Originals ZX Flux and Superstar Pack in 2015, followed by the Superstar Clean in 2017.
adidas Originals Forum 84 Low Limited Edt “Singapore Forum” pays homage to the legendary original white/blue colorway of the throwback basketball shapes with superior hair suede and leather uppers with batik design.
The flowery wax-resist coloring procedure is used on the sockliners, ankle strap windows, behind the translucent outsoles, and the extra patterned laces. Aside from the off-white midsoles, other details include embossed branding on the tongues, gold foil co-branding throughout, and a UV reactive process applied to the uppers that reveals a blue floral batik design when exposed to sunlight.
Limited to just 300 pairs globally, each pair of Limited Edt x adidas Originals Forum 84 Low “Singapore Forum” sneakers is stitched with numbering and comes complete with a “Singapore Forum Collector Card” noting the rarity of the collaboration.
To commemorate the cooperation, Limited Edt will release its debut NFT, “Vanda NFT,” on August 20. The NFT revolves around Vanda, who Limited Edt describes as “Singapore’s female superhero vigilante. A mythical folk hero to countless young women. From her mastery in combat to ability to disguise herself, her exploits are already one of legend. Little is known about her except that she has a taste for orchids and sneakers. Fresh orchids left next to her footprint of different sneakers have become the signature of this vigilante when she completes her missions.”
There will be 60 distinct Vanda NFTs available, each accompanied by a special box set. The Box set comprises a pair of the sneakers, a basketball jersey, a matching basketball, and a collectible trading card titled “Singapore Forum.”
The Vanda NFT proceeds will benefit HCSA Community Services Programs, which focus on supporting the vulnerable category of abused teenage girls and single-parent households, providing them with a future and hope. The Limited Edt Vanda NFT will be available for purchase on August 20th for 0.19 ETH (about $375 USD) at limitededt.com/vandanft.
The Limited Edt x adidas Originals Forum 84 Low “Singapore Forum” will be released on August 27 for S$209 SGD (about $151 USD) via Limitededt.
