The Nike Air Max 90 Arrives in “Desert Camo” Patterns

Tinker Hatfield introduced his concept for the Air Max 90 and debuted it to the world 35 years ago. Since then, the silhouette has been an iconic mainstay for Nike and its ever-expanding Sportswear line, and it will be available this season in a whole new “Desert Camo” theme.

Despite the fact that this model is typically built with mesh backdrops, smooth leather mudguards, and buttery suede overlays, the Swoosh design team chose a different path with this iteration’s build.

Nearly every panel of the base is made of a rough canvas material, which is likely a tribute to conventional military surplus gear and equipment. The Swoosh insignia on the sidewalls and eyelets are encircled by “Desert Camo” motifs that extend to the side panels, toe boxes, and collars in a light beige tint.

Midsoles and treads are painted off-white beneath this layer, with the former revealing creamy Air Max units through its translucent window. Branded Nike Air hits are positioned on the tongues and insoles in black to string together its look.

Although no release date has been announced, these are expected to be available later this year through Nike and select retailers.
