Train to Busan filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is back with the first trailer for another Netflix film titled Jung E, following the success of Hellbound. The film will feature the final performance of popular actress Kang Soo-yeon, who died shortly before the film’s premiere as a result of a stroke.
The South Korean sci-fi film is set in the post-apocalyptic 22nd century, when climate change has rendered the world uninhabitable, forcing mankind to live in a man-made shelter where civil conflict is still raging.
In order to stop the conflict, Seohyun (Kang Soo-yeon), the team leader of the research institute Kronoid Lab, and the institute chief Sang-Hoon (Ryu Kyung-soo) clone the brain of a heroic soldier in order to construct the most advanced A.I. combat warrior. Jung E is the name of Kim Hyun-A.I. joo’s
