’Welcome to Wrexham’ Trailer Sees Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Buy a Football Club

Welcome To Wrexham trailer teases a look at Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney‘s foray into the world of football. The documentary series created by Reynolds and McElhenney follows the team as they work to run Wrexham AFC, the third-oldest professional football club in the world.

The series’ official synopsis reads, “From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.”

As seen in the trailer, the pair gets to know their fans, tours the facilities, and attends their first football game as they adjust to their new surroundings. Wrexham AFC, which finished second in the National League in years 21 and 22, was purchased by the two in 2020.

Reynolds also took to his social media to share the trailer with his followers, captioning: “No pressure.” McElhenney also shared on his social, stating: “I fell in love with a sport, a town and a movie star. I couldn’t help it.”

The docuseries premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on August 25.
