Spring 2024 is a collection to be taken seriously, and it all begins with the iconic setting of 10 avenue George V, Balenciaga’s historical home and the house of its couture collections.
In a departure from traditional fashion presentations, Balenciaga intertwines its garments with the pulse of real life. The video captures familiar Balenciaga models and muses stepping out onto the Parisian streets, mingling with skateboarders, dog walkers, shoppers, and everyday Parisians going about their routines. This pared-down approach places the spotlight firmly on the clothes themselves.
The collection boasts a refined blend of Garde-Robe elegance and seasonal ready-to-wear, resulting in a cohesive wardrobe of Balenciaga uniforms that seamlessly transition from day to night. Balenciaga’s observation of metropolitan motion comes alive through the Hourglass jacket, a classic silhouette crafted from black dry wool gabardine. The collection continues to exude luxury with rib-knit cashmere turtlenecks, maxi skirts, pantaleggings, and accessories like the Hourglass Hinge medium bag and the Invisible Rectangle metal sunglasses.
Throughout the presentation, sophistication intertwines with playful elements. A smooth black leather belted robe coat catches the eye, while an oversized blazer in grey Merino Prince of Wales adds a touch of elegance.
