Why Giving Up on Alcohol Can transform Your Skin

In pursuit of perfect skin, we try countless serums, creams and chug water religiously, yet there’s a simple fix lying right in front of our face but the question is-are we strong enough to try and stick to it?

Alcohol causes dehydration, taking all the fluid from your skin while slowly killing your liver as well as inflaming the tissue, a systemic inflammation to the skin creates the so called histamine reaction which is responsible for the redness and the flushing of the skin. Ignoring it will eventually bring you to the point where no matter what creams or serums you’ll use your face will always stay red, old-looking and wrinkled.

While it’s best to give up on alcohol, you can still enjoy it on social occasions but you must try and reduce the intake in order for your skin to recover, like any other organ your skin can regenerate. The body has the ability to rehydrate, you can even go with a different beverages clean ones like Gin, Vodka or Tequila as they get out of your system quicker.

When your young say in your 20’s alcohol leaves your body within three hours while it takes an average of 33 hours to get it out, if you’re 40 years old.

One last tip; make sure you stay hydrated, always, especially if you continue to consume alcohol.
