World’s First 360-Degree Swimming Pool Is Set To Open In London

Looking for a unique way of viewing London’s skyline? Well look no more. Set to sit on the roof of a 55-story hotel in London, will be the world’s first ever 360-degree infinity pool. The concept hails from UK-based swimming pool creators Compass Pools.

The pool will fit 600,000 liters of water with transparent walls and floor, which not only allows swimmers a full view across the capital city but also into the hotel below. The pool will also have a built-in anemometer that’ll monitor wind speeds and control temperature. The pool would also be equipped with colored lights designed to give the tower the appearance of a sparkling jewel at night, while the pool walls and floor is made of cast acryclic instead of traditional glass.

Although there’s no signs of access to and out the pool, according to Designboom the exit will be through a rotating spiral staircase that rises from the pool floor.

If all planning rights go ahead, infinity london could kick off construction as early as 2020. However, at this point, the project’s location is also not confirmed, so it remains an architectural concept.
