Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes Join Forces for “Luxury Life”

Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes have once again joined forces, this time for the infectious track “Luxury Life.” Released on a crisp September 8th, this collaboration marks Busta’s latest single following “Beach Ball” with BIA, both of which are expected to feature on his upcoming 11th studio album, set to drop by year-end. Meanwhile, in late August, Leray treated fans to her new EP, “Blue Moon.”

In the music video for “Luxury Life,” directed by the talented Benny Boom, Busta and Leray channel their inner Bonnie and Clyde, taking us on a thrilling crime spree reminiscent of the iconic 1994 Quentin Tarantino film, “Pulp Fiction.” Adding to the track’s allure, it samples The Whole Darn Family’s classic “Seven Minutes of Funk,” recognized for its appearance on JAY-Z and Foxy Brown’s “Ain’t No N****.”

“Luxury Life” continues Leray’s penchant for weaving hip-hop history into her music. Her earlier release, “Players (DJ Saige Remix),” sampled Busta’s Grammy-nominated 1997 hit, “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” with the man himself making an appearance on the official track. Leray even paid tribute to Busta during the 2023 BET Awards, where he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The star-studded event also featured Rah Digga, Swizz Beatz, BIA, Super Cat, Spice, Scar Lip, Cutty Ranks, Skillibeng, M.O.P., and, of course, Busta himself.

Adding to the excitement, Swizz Beatz confirmed that he’s part of Busta’s forthcoming LP as an executive producer, alongside heavyweights Timbaland and Pharrell Williams. In a heartfelt message celebrating Busta’s 51st birthday, Swizz hailed Busta’s unique style and enduring influence on the hip-hop scene, wishing everyone a career as enduring as Busta Rhymes.

So, as we venture further into the ever-evolving soundscape of hip-hop, “Luxury Life” by Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes is a track that embodies both nostalgia and innovation, setting the stage for what promises to be a memorable album release.
