L’Epee Fast Track II Desk Clock Inspired By Golden Age Racers

L’Epee, a Swiss clockmaker, has resurrected its sports-car-as-clock Time Fast line with a new desk clock based on 1960s races.

L’Epee introduces Time Fast II in five distinct colors, opting for the two-seater, enclosed wheel shape that has won Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona.

The clock is made of the same material as the automobiles that inspired it, with an aluminum H-chassis supporting its 8 Day 2.5Hz movement.

The three-spoke steering wheel is then used to set the time, with hours and minutes shown on the ‘air filters’ feeding the clock’s V8 engine, whose pistons may be set in motion with the flip of the ignition key. The escapement may be seen beneath the ‘driver’s helmet,’ while the main spring is located in the passenger seat.

The manual stick shift on the clock also serves as a selector between winding the timekeeping movement, winding the piston mechanism, and neutral. Winding is achieved by rolling the car backwards and spinning the rear wheels.

The Time Fast II is currently available in five colors from L’Epee stores for $42,500 USD.
