How long have you been making music? and have music always been a part of your life?
Well I started rapping when I was 11 in the garage with my step pops and my lil sister in Salinas,Ca .. I can’t remember when I wrote my first rap tho lol or what it was smh .. me and my best friend in high school, in the 9th grade we were recording on a tape recorder lol. I been serious about making music since I was 17 so it’s been about 13 years on and off, and yea music has always been apart of my life. My uncles is Dr Dre & Warren G so they have always been a big influence
How did you developed your sound?
Shit at first my sound was hella rugged and raspy and shit like dat a lot of shoot em up bang bang shit, I mean I still got shit like dat but that’s not all my music is about like before, but now if you listen to my shit you can hear the influences of my fav rappers in there a little bit like Eminem, Curren$y, Kurupt just to name a few, and I kind of mixed that wit my own swag and that’s how I got my sound.
How would you describe your style?
I feel like my style is lyrical but I say it in a way that doesn’t bore you. My style is my style I don’t think I really sound like anybody in the game. You really gotta put yo ear to it to understand it. My style is from La to da Bay, Nor Cal & So Cal you can hear it in the music fa sho fa sho.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
Growing up watching my uncles really inspired me to do this when I was younger and as I got older and people kept telling me they liked how I rap and that I was talented and I can go far with this music, that lit a fire under my ass. That’s what kept me motivated and kept me on this journey that I’m on now.
Could you detail a bit about your process while making music?
I used to like writing by myself. Back in the day I would sit in my car put a beat on, roll a blunt and write. That was my fav thing to do. But now I’m usually in the studio creating with the producer and I gotta have some good smoke and a bottle of Hendricks and my favorite engineers and I also gotta have my girl with me lol she just knows what I want when I want it without me saying anything and that keeps my vibe good, I don’t have to worry ’bout nothin’ but the music lol then I’m good to go but shit that’s my process.
We have noticed that “Gas 4 Sale” is also your own record label, unlike the majority of artists who are signing into other labels. It seems that you're on to something bigger than just being an artist, what have pushed this decision?
It’s actually a lot of things but I’ll just say some of the reasons we started a record label is because we want full creative control on what we do, and for us, it’s not all about the money we a family and record labels just trying to do everything for the money. Have you stuck in a contract or some shit like that, it’s quite a few things.
Out of your favorite artists which ones you most hope to work with?
Shit I would like to work with Schoolboy Q, Curren$y, Ab-Soul, Erykah Badu, Missy Elliot man it’s a lot of them lol
Performing live, what was your most memorable experience?
Performing at the Roxy in Hollywood, man we had it turnt up the whole set then after that me and the homie was battling niggas outside in the front then got into it wit some niggas after that lmaoo that’s was a fun night lol
Aside from Music was there another thing you wished to do, or planning to do in the future?
I never wanted to do anything else besides music because of my uncles. My uncles have been rich cause of music my whole life so of course I always thought I can do that too. And I love it just as much as they do so I felt music is what I was meant to do.
