Patta and Nike have officially unveiled the collaboration Air Max 1 “The Next Wave” following leaks and teasers. The latest release is a continuation of the two brands’ collaborative work, which began with “The Wave” last year and has since revisited the construction in a variety of colorways.
“The Next Wave” introduces a new colorway with an elevated brown leather construction described as “Dark Russett,” “Metallic Silver” mesh, a burgundy lining, and light blue details. The campaign imagery also teases a second colorway in which the signature Wave pattern is replicated in a tonal white design.
Patta’s ambition to create and foster a global community is supported by the new release, which is inspired by the African proverb “Each One Teach One.” Patta is also launching a two-day mentorship exchange at Nike’s SHAPA Soweto community center in Johannesburg to further this goal.
Launching the collaborative shoe and mentorship program, Gee Schmidt, co-founder of Patta, said:

The “Next Wave” shoe was photographed by Shaniqua Jarvis in a campaign that featured a variety of creatives, including New York grill maker Eddie Plein, illustrator Aya Brown, DJ DBNGogo, and entrepreneur Wireless G.
The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “The Next Wave” collection will be available on August 12 through the Patta website, physical locations, and SNKRS in Europe. The Patta Academy mentorship program will begin in August.
