Prada Introduces Three Raf Simons-Designed Sports Sandals

Prada has just released a trio of sporty sandals perfect for summer. The luxury house presents two sets of sandals designed by Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada, one made from padded Nappa leather and the other with a sportier aesthetic thanks to its mix of leather and nylon tape.

Starting with the Nappa pairs, we find the sandal in “Black” or “White” colorways, both with a minimal amount of branding on the lateral front-quarter strap and on the insole.

“These sporty sandals are the perfect expression of Prada’s ‘traveling man,’ for whom sophisticated tones and a sporty design mix in a new aesthetic dialogue.” according to the brand. And they are indeed sporty, with a sole unit borrowed from Prada’s Cloudbust Thunder, giving the sandal a chunky, lugged attitude that will make the silhouette more versatile come fall and winter.

Prada’s black sporty leather and nylon tape sandals have a more understated tone, which is enhanced by the brand’s signature metal clip and nylon straps. Leather is used sparingly, primarily on the inner-angle straps, while nylon adds a tactile edge to the flatter-soled pair. The only Prada branding here is on the insole, which is stamped in the house’s silver block cap font.

The padded Nappa sandals from Prada cost $1,220 USD, while the sporty nylon-equipped pair costs $895 USD. All three iterations are available for purchase online.
