Renowned artist Nina Chanel Abney has taken to Instagram to unveil her latest collaboration with Jordan Brand: a fresh take on the Air Jordan 3. This partnership comes almost two years after Abney’s previous work with the Jumpman, where she reimagined the Air Jordan 2.
Her rendition of Michael Jordan‘s third signature sneaker showcases a striking “Bicoastal/Black/Malachite/Fossil” color palette and a blend of canvas and suede materials for its construction.
Rumors of this collaboration initially surfaced in January, courtesy of sneaker insider Brandon1an, who leaked details about the color scheme, style code, and a potential June release date. Abney recently confirmed these speculations with a teaser of the shoe’s distinctive heel tab.
Now, thanks to a reveal by Tyler “Arab Lincoln” Mansour, we have a full look at the design. Mansour’s photography highlights the standout features, including the lush two-tone green upper, custom heel tab, bone-colored midsole, and the intriguing contrast of chunky rope laces against a streamlined tongue. Additionally, Mansour’s snapshot hints at the possibility of accompanying apparel, with a jacket sleeve adorned with “NCA 23.”
